are often better for cooling We may not necessarily be buying the concept

  • This can be marked as resolved. I’ve moved on and I’m much happier with my new solution.

I moved on due to performance and other issues so this is resolved.

The product categories widget was a good idea, but it doesn’t work for one. Per even the reviews on wordpress.com the developer is AWOL which gives no reason to spend money on it.

And for that matter I’m already in this pretty deep at is.

    Theme itself purchased
3 or 4 different woocommerce plugins at an average of $80 USD each.

Better hosting to handle it all.

    It adds up rapidly…………

    Magda,
You have been extremely helpful and I appreciate that. So far I’m getting it done but again another question.

Do you know which CSS code affects the buffer (distance) on the right of the logo before getting to the navigation menu? It’s quite a large area and I would like to shorten it.

    Thanks,
    Larry

    Magda, regarding the categories.

The problem is when a shopper goes to say “All Products” as the theme is setup they are not going to scroll through everything.

Then add in there is no search function (another issue I’ve found) means many customers will literally just go to another site where it is easier to find the product they are after.

Just info. I’m getting ready to launch it as good as I can get it and then do more changes and eventually hire a person or company to correct a lot of the consumer purchasing issues I see along with customization more towards what I would like.

Right now though I just want it working and I appreciate all the help.

    Thanks,
    Larry

I spoke to soon. I wasn’t setup to receive replys. Let me review this.

It seems I have the font size corrected for the submenus. So I need to know where to edit the main menu so I can adjust it to fit correctly.

    Thanks,
    Larry

And whatever was done w/ the changes to make the submenu work is causing it to pull the font size from a different CSS file now.

I went in to edit the CSS I was working on that was showing no effect I could find yesterday (style.css) and now I can’t locate a way to increase the font size back up.

Ok, this helped but also told me I’m editing the wrong CSS to change the font size on the main menu itself (not the submmenu items) so would like to know where that is.

Now, when viewing the woocommerce themes on woocommerce sites if I bring up a group of products or the “products” page with all products the product categories are listed.

If I go to shop then products, or dry goods, etc… on the site the categories are no where to be seen.

Essentially the categories are supposed to show both when looking at multiple product listings or looking at a single product.

    Thanks,
    Larry

I am still waiting on this fix though:

I’ve spoken with WooCommerce on this and was told the short codes automatically bring up the “catalog” images not thumbnails, by design.

So I’m looking for a way to pull the same thing; best sellers, top rated, etc..; but showing thumbnails. This way it would appropriately appear say on the front page as design without having huge images.

    Larry

I haven’t corrected the links on the bottom in the footer, and other areas but I did realize the top menu works so I can copy from there.

I fixed the other problem. It’s in about 3 or 4 of the CSS sheets and I went through and edited them all to correct it.

After discussing it with Woocommerce here is what I have come to.

The “new products” “best sellers” etc… shortcodes are loading catalog images instead of thumbnails. This doesn’t work for the front page so I’m looking for a way to force it to thumbnails.

Many of the image issues on the products page corrected themselves with the update.

I am probably to the point of needing customization just going to have to figure out the budgeting.

Things like in products the price and select options buttons are not consistent across a row.

The test page is a perfect example of the image problem………….. That should be thumbnails at 180×180 or 150×150 not full size images.

As for the slider, I dumped it. It was bulky and annoying. I’m working on a temporary front page until I can get a custom one done.

I had emailed about having your company do some customization but never heard back.

    And then this:
“Your theme (PetLovers) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. You can see which files are affected from the system status page. If in doubt, check with the author of the theme.”

From what I can tell this is resolved.

Email being sent as I would like to move back to PHP 7 from 5.
